Welcome to Tamayo, a modern Mexican restaurant located in Larimer Square in the LoDo district of Denver.

Our cuisine is carefully crafted, yet bold flavored. Rooted in tradition, yet adventuring into contemporary tastes. Chef Richard Sandoval blends the earthy yet complex flavors of his native Mexico with worldly ingredients and creative cooking techniques to create the modern Mexican cuisine at Tamayo.

Our hospitality is warm and Latin. We welcome you to linger over drinks, rediscover Mexican classics – fresh guacamole, ceviche, tacos with fresh-made tortillas and authentic fillings – and savor the Chef’s signature dishes.

Tequileria Tamayo is inspired by neighborhood Tequilerias in Mexico, where lively conversation is shared over bottles and small plates. Sip our collection of spirits slowly as the locals would, or drink them in our hand-muddled cocktails.

“There’s a lot to love on the new menu, from oh-so-tender pork carnitas to a cobia aguachile garnished with micro-veggies. Whatever you do, be sure to save room for dessert: the tres leches bread pudding, cinnamon-y banana empanada, or cooling cucumber margarita sorbet are all worthy ends to a meal.”

“This Larimer Square spot is a culinary canvas on which Chef Richard Sandoval blends earthy flavors of his native Mexico with creative cooking techniques to craft Tamayo’s modern Mexican cuisine. The substantial menu consists of starters, soups and salads, tacos, enchiladas, chef specials and guacamoles, including traditional, bacon, tuna tartare, and spicy crab varieties. Equally extensive is the tequila collection (there are over 100 options); opt for homemade serrano- or prickly pear-infused tequila, or, if you’re like us and can’t choose just one, order a flight like the Casamigos, a trio of blanco, reposado, and añejo.”

“Its vibrant atmosphere included a colorful bar, with south-of-the-border tile artwork giving the place a festive vibe. The atmosphere was highly engaging without being invasive, the perfect place for a date with your loved one. With its high ceilings and natural light, it’s an easy place to feel comfortable. In addition to a spacious rooftop deck with sweeping views of the Rocky Mountains, there is an outdoor eating area perfect in summer to enjoy the tastes of Latin cuisine.”

“The Sky's the Limit at Tamayo's Rooftop Brunch! Bottomless brunch is a beautiful alliteration, and you can find it downtown at Tamayo. The Mexican restaurant has been located in Larimer Square for seventeen years and serves up an all-you-can-eat tapas brunch, with or without bottomless drinks. Brunch is great, but eating brunch on a beautiful terrace can’t be beat - with two open-air spaces overlooking the city and an intimate walled-off dining area.”
